MARRAKECH TO ESSAOUIRA

We will meet you at your accommodation in Marrakech at 8am to start our 3hr journey to the coastal town of Essaouira. On leaving Marrakech you will notice the scenery quickly changes offering you unrestricted views across open plains, and the remote life of those who work the Land.

On the way to Essaouira we visit a women’s Argan oil co-operative, all of the products are made entirely by hand and form one of Morocco’s largest exports, Argan oil has many uses, most of us are familiar with its cosmetic uses, but it is also used to cook with, and you can buy a delicious paste to eat in the morning with bread called Amlou.

Around midday, we arrive in the town, where we will visit the port with its rows of beautiful blue fishing boats and go to the fish market to view the amazing catch of the day.  Here we can choose the fish, that later we can have cooked and brought to your table for lunch.

After Lunch, our local guide will go with you to explore the ancient and relaxed Medina, its ancient ramparts and little shops carved into the walls of the fortress. Before departing Essaouira you will have time to stroll along the beach, watch the windsurfers and then on the way back if you wish your guide can stop at Diabet which was once the hippy colony where Jimi Hendrix lived.
