RURAL MOROCCO

Full Day

The Rural Morocco day trip kicks off at approximately 10am from Marrakesh city.  Our drive takes us to the small city of Amizmiz, here there will be an opportunity to wander the local souks.

Continuing our journey up through scenic mountains, we will pause to stop at various locations of your choice to view the stunning scenery and take photographs.

Arriving at the local village, you will be greeted and taken to one of the main houses, where you will see a traditional Berber home and be treated to tea and pastries.

You will then have a chance to wander the village and have a look at the way the locals live – including the local hammam, school, and local stores.

We then return to the first home, for a traditional Berber lunch, which will include a starter, main, and desserts.

After a delicious lunch, we will see where the local women work and create beautiful rugs.  You will be shown their techniques and have a chance to have a try for yourself!

The beautiful and unique completed rugs and carpets will also be available for you to have a look through.

We also have donations in the way of clothes, medication and toys given to us by expats in Marrakesh and you can help us in distributing these to the local families.

Tea and pastries will be served and your driver will then take you back to Marrakesh.

You are able to take photographs of your visit, the local scenery and the village, and the women.

This is an extremely unique and special experience.  The day promises to be one that we are confident you will remember long after you have returned home.  Not only do you have an insight into the ‘real’ Morocco; but you are also joining a community which is working towards being ethical and giving back to the locals as much as possible.
