OURIKA VALLEY

Less than an hour from Marrakech, a trip to the Ourika Valley is an immersion in a haven of greenery at the foot of the Toubkal.

Leave behind the hustle and bustle of Marrakech, set off on a day trip to the Ourika Valley, a lush oasis of vegetation beneath the magnificent Atlas Mountains. As you make your way up through the Oued Ourika gorge with your guide, to discover an entirely different pace of life, we stop to enjoy a cup of mint tea in a traditional Berber house, where you will see bread being made in the traditional way.

We will continue our tour to reach Setti Fatma, a favourite weekend destination for many Moroccans. Highly appreciated for its beautiful streams and seven waterfalls, beautiful cliffs, and green valleys. Here you can take lunch alongside the river in one of many restaurants and there are little shops where you can look for gifts to take home.  An official guide will take you on a short walking tour to view the first waterfall allowing you many opportunities to take pictures in the beautiful valley.

On the way back to Marrakech there is the opportunity to take an optional Camel ride in the valley or back in the Palmarie.

We would suggest that you wear good sport shoes to fully enjoy the hike (flipflops are not recommended).
